Raxel Storage Systems of Lincolnshire recently completed a Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) pallet racking installation for a major blue chip company.

The scope of the project was to take down an existing wide aisle installation and replace within the same foot print a new VNA system designed around a new pallet size. Raxel designed the solution for the VNA but also re-installed the wide aisle along with additional rack into an alternative location on site.

All racking had sprinkler protection which had to be re-designed and have new high level feeds and valve sets installed. The installation had to take place during normal working hours and required full CDM2015 management with Raxel acting and principal contractor and designer.

In additional to the pallet racking Raxel supplied all new location labels and upgraded rack end barriers. The new barriers rather then being conventional steel were replaced with the award winning STOMMPY flexible barrier. These barriers are perfect for high risk zones where a barrier must take the impact from trucks.
